About Me

Born son to a Swedish dad and Austrian mom, who met while working as ski instructors in Kitzbühel, Austria in November 1986, winter sport was part of my life from birth on. Starting to learn skiing at 3 years old, I started snowboarding with 7 years old in the Stubaital, in the heart of the Austrian alps, where I lived and learned to love snow sports over the years to come. As of today I have done 18 seasons of snowboarding.

Being born to a multicultural family I early developed a great interest for other cultures and countries and have been traveling in over 30 countries in the world, living for one year in Canada, several months in Australia and New Zealand, one semester in Spain and currently spending 7 months in Chile. Due to my double citizenship of Austria and Sweden I lived several years in both of those countries feeling equally belonging to both cultures.

Because of the big amount of time I spent, living abroad in English and Spanish speaking countries I have a fluency of these tongues, besides being native speaker of German and Swedish. During my travel experiences I have gone through a lot of progress and by now enjoy getting as close to local culture of the places I visit as possible by engaging in organizations such as couchsurfing or experiencing countries by working or studying there. This has over time allowed me to become very adaptable and opened my horizon in such a manner that I easily integrate in new surroundings and cultures.

Next to my passion for traveling, snowboarding has always been my biggest interest. It has taken me to Canada, France, Sweden, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and New Zealand, where I worked a season at Mt. Ruapehu. For the last 4 years I have been working as a snowboard instructor at the Stubaier Gletscher during the winters. Next to my teaching certificate I have visited avalanche trainings and workshops to gain additional experience and expertise. This experience, next to growing up in a village, dependent on skiing tourism has opened my eyes for the infrastructure and functionality of ski areas and the features they provide to riders.

Apart from studying for a master degree in international development I spend half of the year living my passion and working on my snowboarding skills. I am very involved in the snowboarding community and the development of the industry. I regularly visit snowboarding events and check communities and website on a daily basis to follow the trends and stay on track with what's happening around the globe.

I am very happy to have a second chance of enjoying an austral winter season and hope for this project to have a big outreach to the community in order for others to find a nice northern-hemisphere summer escape in Chile.
